THE SWEET SWEAT BALL by MeowMondayz

Let’s vogue – the Ballroom community and the dance style “Voguing” that emerged within it were created by and for BIPOC trans and queer individuals; at the VOGELBALL, a Voguing Ball will also take place in 2024: THE SWEET SWEAT BALL by Meow Mondayz 🌴☀️👯

The Ballroom culture is a safer space and support network where free expression can occur away from everyday discrimination and violence, allowing BIPOC trans and queer individuals to express themselves freely and feel accepted and empowered. At the ball, the community comes together and competes in various categories to win the coveted “Grand Prize.”

-MEOW MONDAYZ- was founded by Zaniah Revlon & Ava 007 and is a weekly Vogue Night, Jam & Ballroom Community Space to come together, dance, and start the week with fresh energy! The concept is to bring Ballroom culture & Voguing back into the club environment! Each week, a few categories are offered in the “OTA” Vogue Night style, followed by some jamming. With Meow Mondayz, Ava & Zaniah aim to create a safer space for Queer & Trans People of Color in connection with Ballroom and clubbing, providing a physical space to regularly connect with the community, as they see a lack of spaces for QT*BIPOC people in Hamburg to come together and exchange ideas.

Ava 007 (@avalicious_dossantos) has been part of the Ballroom community since 2017 and has been involved in the queer clubbing and dance scene in Hamburg since her youth. Since 2019, she has been promoting and opening spaces for the local Ballroom community in Hamburg, organizing Kikis, Balls & events alone and with her Kiki House of Angels.

Zaniah Revlon (@sahra.zaniah) has been a member of the Ballroom community since 2017 and competes in her main category, Woman’s Performance, and has been serving as a Ballroom MC since 2019. She has become an international superstar in her main category, walking and winning major international Balls, including the historic first 1000€ Woman’s Performance category in Europe, and has made a name for herself by recently being awarded a “Star Award” by the Paris Ball scene. She represents Hamburg internationally, nationally & locally, organizing Open Sessions since 2019, teaching courses & curating and moderating events since 2023.
